The catch: Because it is perched high in the Alps and heavily focused on the US curriculum, students can become very socially isolated from the rest of Switzerland. It is safe and scenic, but it can feel like a 'Goldfish Bowl' after a few years.
There are no free international schools in Switzerland. If it is in English and follows an international curriculum, it is 100% private. The closest option is SIS (Swiss International School) at CHF 15k – 25k, but still far from free. Tuition is just the starting point — registration fees, deposits and expedition fees are additional.
