One of 14 official European Schools — legally recognised and jointly supervised by EU governments. Multilingual and multicultural education from nursery through secondary. Ages 4–18.
Note: These schools prioritize local residents. You must be registered (Anmeldung) in Berlin before applying.
SESB schools are government-funded and completely free. However, catchment area registration is a strict requirement. Families who are not yet registered in Berlin will not be considered for a place, regardless of language qualifications.
Official EU school. The catch: Extremely difficult to get into unless you are an "Entity" employee (Patent Office, EU). Private families are "Category 3" and are often rejected.
Note on German private school fees: Fees are often income-based for local residents and may vary. The range shown (€4k – €8k) reflects the typical spread. Contact the school directly for a personalised fee assessment.
All fees shown are approximate annual figures in Euros (€). Additional costs may include registration fees, uniforms, school trips and extracurricular activities. Contact the school directly for the most up-to-date fee schedule.
Our advisors help families navigate German school admissions — from SESB lotteries to private school applications.
