About the school

Founded in 2020 and already at 950+ students, TASIS Portugal is the fastest-growing international school in the Lisbon area. Part of the globally respected TASIS Foundation network โ€” the original TASIS in Switzerland was the first American international school in Europe, founded in 1956 by M. Crist Fleming.

TASIS Portugal offers a distinctive curriculum combining Core Knowledge (structured content approach), Singapore Math (the world's highest-performing maths methodology), Next Generation Science Standards, and unique enrichment subjects including coding, chess, violin, leadership and rhetoric from the earliest years. Students progress through Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9โ€“10, then the IB Diploma in Grades 11โ€“12.

Every class maintains a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio โ€” the lowest of any major international school in the Lisbon region. Pre-K through Grade 4 classes have two fully qualified full-time teachers plus specialist teachers. Lunch and two daily snacks are included in tuition โ€” a rare benefit among Lisbon international schools.

The purpose-built modern campus at Quinta da Beloura features state-of-the-art classrooms, science laboratories, athletic fields and play spaces. The school has grown from zero to 950+ students in just five years, supported by a strong and active TASIS Parents Association.
