Lycée Français International de Porto (LFIP) is a private French school operating under the AEFE network (Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Étranger) — France's official global network of 600 schools in 138 countries. Instruction is entirely in French — LFIP is not suitable for families without French, and the language transition for non-French-speaking children is significant even with support. The Serralves location is beautiful but not central Porto — you will need a car or the school bus. For French families relocating to Porto, however, this is the obvious choice: exceptional academic standards, a stunning setting, and fees that are roughly one-third of comparable schools. The AEFE bursary system means qualifying families may pay very little or nothing at all.
